What is the maximum tenure for a home loan?+

Home loans in India can be availed for a maximum tenure of 30 years (360 months). However, the tenure is also limited by the borrower's age at the time of loan maturity, which should not exceed 60-65 years for salaried individuals.

Yes, you can claim tax deductions on home loan repayment. Under Section 80C, you can claim up to ₹1.5 lakh on principal repayment. Under Section 24(b), you can claim up to ₹2 lakh on interest paid for self-occupied property.
